Graduation Information

Graduation ceremonies will be held on June 9th at 4PM in Thalassa Stadium. All students will receive 6 guest tickets, free of charge, to give to family and friends.  New this year, additional tickets may be purchased for $10 per ticket up to a maximum of 4 per graduate.  Graduation rehearsal will be June 9th in Thalassa Stadium at 9 AM.  Graduation rehearsal is mandatory for all graduates.

Cap and Gown distribution will be June 8th at 9 AM at the snack bar in Thalassa Stadium.  Graduation tickets will also be given out at this time.  It is mandatory to attend Cap and Gown distribution during this time as no other arrangements for distribution will be made. The Capistrano Unified School District will provide every graduation candidate a cap, gown, medallion and tassel as a loaner at no charge. This is not a rental, rather each student/family that simply chooses to enroll in the loaner program emails the Activities Director, Matt Reid through School Loop mail and makes the request by submitting their name and height. An appropriate gown will be provided, free of charge. The deadline to arrange for the loaner is March 15. Upon conclusion of the graduation ceremony, all students go to the diploma table to receive their personal diploma. (A diploma cover is all that is issued during the ceremony.) The cap, gown, medallion and tassel must all be returned at this time in order to receive your diploma. Legally, we are not permitted to allow you to keep any of the loaner items.

There are advantages to purchasing your own cap, gown, medallion and tassel:

  • Following the ceremony, you do not have to worry about turning items in. Caps and tassels can get lost on the field at the conclusion of the ceremony when graduates all throw their caps in celebration.
  • You have the graduation outfit for family pictures throughout the weekend and following week as you attend graduation celebrations.
  • It may be passed down to other family members.

You can place your order for your Cap & Gown, your 2016 Graduation Announcements and your Class Ring by either going on line to www.jostens.com or contacting your Jostens representative, Jack Nicholson, directly at his office at 714-751-0260 or on his cell phone at 949-874-7464.
