Parking Permit Regulations
SAN CLEMENTE HIGH SCHOOL
PARKING PERMIT REGULATIONS 2016 - 2017
- PARKING PERMITS ARE ISSUED FOR SINGLE USE ONLY – One family-owned vehicle per student.
- Parking permits are nontransferable to another student or friend’s vehicle for any reason.
- Students who need to drive a different vehicle (family vehicles only) for a short period of time, must provide a copy of the vehicle’s registration and driver’s license before a temporary parking permit can be issued.
- New Vehicle - $10.00 fee for a new parking sticker, if original permit is returned, or pay the full fee without it.
- Students are not allowed go to their cars or loiter in the parking lot during the school day. Violators will be subject to school disciplinary action. All vehicles are subject to being searched.
- TICKETS: All parking regulations and citations set forth in the California Vehicle Code, Section 21113A, Division 11 shall be enforced by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
San Clemente High School is not responsible for citations issued by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. SCHS also accepts no responsibility for any vandalism or theft of any vehicle or its contents. Please report any theft or vandalism to the Sheriff’s Department at (949) 770-6011.
CUSD Board Policy 3513.2(a) and California Vehicle Code 21113 stipulate the following traffic/parking regulations:
- All student vehicles must display an original SCHS parking permit affixed on the front window (bottom-left-side).
- All student drivers are expected to obey all regulation and traffic signs posted throughout campus parking lots.
- All student drivers must operate motor vehicles at 5 MPH or less.
- All student vehicles must be parked within designated student parking stalls.
- Disabled person parking placard/permit must be visibly displayed and must be assigned to the student driver.
Orange County Sheriff’s Department will ticket/tow vehicles for any violation of the above regulations; and monitors SCHS parking lots on a daily basis. Violation of parking and traffic regulations, including reckless driving, willfully disobeying regulations, or openly and persistently defy the authority of enforcement personnel will result in school disciplinary action and the loss of parking privileges for the current school year, plus one semester if violation occurs second semester.
Student drivers who are issued a parking permit are responsible for any misuse of the parking permit. Students who sell, trade, or give their parking permit to another student will forfeit their parking permit for the remainder of the school year, plus one semester if violation occurs during second semester. Students who purchase, receive, create, or use a fraudulent parking permit will immediately have their parking permit revoked for the remainder of the school year; plus one semester if violation occurs second semester. Students will be given additional consequences that may include Saturday School or suspension. No refunds are provided for revoked parking permits.
- Parking Permits for Seniors who meet requirements are capped at 400 and are not sold after Spring Break or when cap is reached.
- Parking permits for Juniors who meet requirements are capped at 200 and are not sold after cap is reached.
- Student drivers are required to attend the safe driving presentation, as approved by SCHS, in order to be eligible for a parking permit. Attending the safe driving presentation does not guarantee receiving a parking permit.
- STUDENTS RECEIVING FAILING GRADES ON THEIR MOST CURRENT SEMESTER REPORT CARD WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR A PARKING PERMIT for the current semester, two semesters, or until grades improve, at administrative discretion. No refunds provided.
- Students placed on a Behavior Contract (Steps 2 - 5) are not eligible for a parking permit and current parking permits will be revoked.
STUDENTS PARKING IN STAFF PARKING LOTS and/or VISITOR PARKING ARE SUBJECT TO REVOCATION OF PARKING PERMIT
