WHAT SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE AND HOW DO I APPLY?

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS

  • Review weekly the SC Scholarship website on a regular basis.  Although most of the scholarship opportunities listed below are for graduating seniors only, some do not have grade level restrictions.   Most  of the scholarship listings in the chart below have either a direct link to the donor's website or an application that you may download and complete and send to the organization. 
  • Begin your search early and start collecting the pieces of information you will need for your applications:  essay about yourself, high school transcript, recommendation letters from teachers, community members, employers, etc., resume of honors and activities and awards. Update your information as needed.

LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS 2015 - 2016

Make sure your applications are complete, neat, and submitted by the deadline.  You will need to send your completed application to the address listed on the application and be sure to adhere to the organization's deadline.  If the organization requires an official transcript you need to order through www.parchment.com/register.  Be sure to give yourself time to have the official transcript sent to you.  Keep the official transcript sealed and attach to your scholarship application.

Business consultants offering their scholarship program to all high school juniors/seniors as well as all students currently registered in any accredited post-secondary institution.  Students are required to write an essay between 500 and 1000 words.  Visit the website for further details.

Eligibility: 

  • Latino/a who has lived in Orange County (OC), California for the past six years, An OC public or private high school graduate or an OC community college transfer student who plans to enroll full-time at a four-year college or university, First generation college student, We welcome Dream Act/AB 540 applicants. Complete the “Applicant Financial Information” section of the online application, Family income limit of up to $45,000. Must complete a FAFSA application or CalSar report.
March 25, 2016  California Wine Grape Growers Foundation - go to www.cwggf.org to apply. Also for the "Robert Miller Scholarship for Viticulture and Encology.  Seniors graduating 2016 only may apply. Eligibility:  Only the children with a parent/legal guardian employed by a CA vineyard during 2015-2016 winegrape growing season are eligible to apply.  (And possible waiver for winegrape grower.)    At least 2 four-year scholarships worth $8,000 each and four two-year scholarships worth $2,000 each to qualifying students in 2016.  Students may study the subject of their choice at any campus within the UC, CSU, or CA Community College system.

March 1, 2016 San Clemente Garden Club - SCHS Scholarship. Click here for details and application A $1,000 scholarship will be given to a SCHS graduating senior attending an accredited 2 or 4 year college/university in the fall of 2016.  Eligibility: Academic GPA (weighted) of 3.0 or more; Specific study area (see application); College enrollment,Volunteer service in environmental concerns and completion and submission of all required application materials/signatures by deadline (see application for further details)
December 15, 2015 GNGF Scholarship.  go to www.drakelawgroup.com/scholarship Seniors graduating who will attend a 2 - 5 year university, or a current college student.  The Drake Law Firm is offering a $5,000 scholarship.  Create a short 30-120 second video telling about the superhero or superheroes that have influenced your education.  Also tell how this scholarship will help you reach your goal.
